China, 1934. There’s no work to be had. No food to be eaten. Where else to go, but the BIG ROAD?
BIG ROAD — in a little hutong — with NOT THERE.
Tues Nov 30 @ 7:30pm (skim down for location and reservation info!)
In BIG ROAD, a mismatched team of road workers gets fired from their latest gig, so take to the countryside in search of work, single girls and a foreign-concession-free China. And boy, do they find what they’re looking for! And so much more: fiendishly corrupt bosses, massive iron tanks, silly dancing monkeys, and even a little nudity (believe it!).
Last week’s movie was packed, so you’ll definitely want to reserve seats and arrive early for this one-of-a-kind extravaganza. Discount drinks, awesome flicks, free entry, and, of course, an introduction by cult film producer Andy Deemer (“Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead” & “Poultry in Motion: Truth is Stranger than Chicken”).

*Note that the subtitles are at the top of the screen this time. ;P Sorry to those who couldn’t see them over the mass of heads at “Street Angel”!
**Don’t miss CCTV’s continuing frenzy of coverage of our movie nights. Their enthusiasm is endearing, even if a little odd. ;P http://english.cntv.cn/20101117/108413.shtml
